Job Summary Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), the Director of Finance, FP&A is an integral part of the Aqua-Aston Hospitality (AAH) FP&A and Asset Management team that designs, develops, refines, and maintains AAH's financial planning and analysis tools that support achievement of business strategies that drive short and long-term business success. Monitors competitor and industry performance for market trends acting as a liaison with AAH corporate functional teams, i.e., Site Operations, Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Revenue Management, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, and Information Technology. Performs financial analyses, develops reports, and delivers presentations to senior leaders that include detailed and concise assessments of AAH's financial results.
Expected Contributions - Conducts research and performs ad-hoc financial analyses and in response to inquiries from internal and external parties.
- Responsible for the Aqua Aston budget system build out, training, and ongoing management.
- Builds and maintains financial models using Excel, Business Intelligence Tools, and large data sets to identify areas of financial risk and opportunity.
- Provides accurate and timely financial analyses deriving data information insights and determining trends and projections.
- Prepares and circulates executive financial dashboards to AAH and MVW senior leaders and provides insights on hotel performance versus targets/goals.
- Performs financial analyses, prepares, and presents reports, presentations, and analyses to MVW Exchange & Third-Party Segment and MVW Corporate senior leaders on an ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), e.g., Occupancy, Average Daily Revenue (ADR), RevPAR, index performance, flow through, gross operating profit margins, productivity, etc., to support data-based decision making.
- Supports development and implementation of three-year asset management plans, including developing a road map for exceeding best in class performance and achievement of stated investment goals.
- Performs competitive analyses primarily focused on AAH's condo hotel portfolio.
- Assists with preparation of AAH's annual budget process and monthly forecast, including setting schedules, preparing presentations, and conducting detailed variance analyses.
- Provides guidance to AAH Directors of Finance in the preparation of hotel level budgets and forecasts. Acts as an internal FP&A consultant to AAH site General Managers, corporate Directors of Finance, the corporate Revenue Management team, the Sales and Marketing team, and Site Operations teams.
- Assists in preparation of proformas working with outside vendor(s), site operations, and corporate revenue teams on various business plan modifications. Supports and provides feedback to AAH staff on preparation of owner presentation templates.
Candidate Profile Education: - Bachelor's degree in Business/Economics/Finance/Accounting or equivalent work experience required. MBA in Finance preferred.
Experience: - At least 10 years of overall finance experience working in FP&A, asset management, and/or operational finance in hospitality.
- At least three years managing a team.
- Financial systems and business intelligence experience is critical.
- Experience in hotel management, hospitality or travel preferred.
- Experience in a global, matrix structured organization preferred.

- Proven ability to exercise sound judgement and decision-making skills to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and to provide recommendations for optimal solutions.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, and to comprehension skills; ability to clearly explain complex analytical topics simply to a wide audience who may or may not be familiar with the subject matter.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and capability to work under tight deadlines and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and to appropriately prioritize responsibilities to the benefit of multiple stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis.
Expected Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 plus bonus plan, benefits, and perks!
