JOB SUMMARY: Provides pastoral care with a holistic approach for all residentsand oversees the chaplaincy program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Models the organization's stated purpose,mission and core values.
2. Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.
3. Complies withestablished Corporate andDepartmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
4. Conducts and coordinates worship services.
5. Organizes and conducts Bible studies.
6. Provides prayer and devotions.
7. Provides on-going visitation with residents and co-workers, including hospital visits.
8. Provides support to the Social Worker and Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator inmeeting the emotional needs of theresidents.
9. Prepares to ministerwith the chaplain and/or pastor at the funeral or memorial service for a resident.
10. Shares the comfort of Scriptures and prayer with residents, especially in times of personal need.
11. Alignment with the organization'sidentity statements and core values.
12. Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Alignment with the organization'sidentity statements and core values.
2. Ordained minister.
3. Ability to listen to what the resident is feeling and saying.
4. Sensitivity to the varying needs of each resident in times of illness, pain and disability.
5. Empathy with those who are lonely or troubled.
6. Ability to serve as an "advocate" for residents, family members and co- workers.
7. Relational skills in working cooperatively and supportively as an interdisciplinary team member withother co-workers.
8. A minimum of five years of experience in either pastoral or chaplaincy responsibilities.
9. Ability to plan, organize and effectively evaluate worship services and other religious activities.
10. Initiative and ability to create new, effective religious programs.
11. Clinical Pastoral Education training preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires extensive work using a computer. This position has physical and mental aspects of sedentary work in which lifting requirements are minimal.Occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or operate computers, objects, tools, or controls;and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
