\nSoutheastern Virginia Training Center is seeking individuals to support the facility’s mission by working within a person-centered educational model as a member of an integrated team to provide support, education/training, and supervision of individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities, and to collect and record data and document services provided to these individuals. Individual support, training, and supervision is performed in the house, on-campus training and leisure sites, on the Center grounds, and off-campus in leisure, training, and employment sites. Medication administration to assigned persons as needed
SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL IS AVAILABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING SHIFTS:Minimum Qualifications
\nHigh school education or equivalent is required. Experience working with people who have intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, or medical conditions. Valid Virginia’s driver’s license required. Successful completion of/ability to complete Pre-Service training class, including completion of medication course (if applicable), CPR, First Aid, and behavior interaction procedures.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to follow written and oral instructions, observe and accurately document observations. Requires the ability to learn basic techniques and knowledge of developmental care & treatment. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, which includes standing, bending, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, providing support during all aspects of daily personal care, and intervening with aggressive behaviors. Successful completion of the facility’s Pre-Service training program, which includes CPR, First Aid, medication administration (if applicable), nutritional management, and physical/behavioral management, is required for continued employment. Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, Residential Managers and/or Supervisors, Shift Supervisors and ID team membersAdditional Considerations
